Christine Reaches National Bowls Finals
Aberfeldy Bowling Club learned in May that member Christine MacLennan had won all the Scottish Women’s Bowling Association Preliminary matches in the Singles Competition, and will now represent Perthshire in the finals at Ayr in July.
This is the first time an Aberfeldy Club member has reach the Scottish Finals and local wishes for the very best of luck go to her.

22 bowlers competed in the Club’s first competition of the season, sponsored by Dow’s Delicatessen, Dunkeld Street, and held over four days, 30 April to 4 May. Winning pair: Jimmy Hermiston and Gordon Evans; runners up Peter Woolley and Norrie Rattray. |

North Perthshire League
9 May: 10 bowlers played Spittalfield at Aberfeldy in the first NPL match of the season. Spittalfield won with 62 shots against Aberfeldy’s 55, giving Spittalfield 5 points and Aberfeldy 3 points in the League Table.
16 May: 10 bowlers played Grandtully at Aberfeldy. Aberfeldy won by 93 shots (6 points) to Grandtully’s 45 shots (2 points).
23 May: 10 bowlers played Moulin at Moulin Bowling Green. Aberfeldy won with 59 shots (4 points) to Moulin’s 54 (4 points).
Friendlies
26 May: 15 Aberfeldy bowlers played Lundin Links. After 17 ends Aberfeldy finished with 100 shots to Lundin Links 70.
27 May: 18 Aberfeldy bowlers were defeated at Falkirk by 107 to 82.
