Aberfeldy Bowling Club July Results

1 July Aberfeldy open triples final (having been rained off twice) Winners: Andy Frail, Robert McLeod and John McKellar. Runners up: Peter Woolley, Billy Devlin and Frank Conlan.

7 July Aberfeldy Bowlers entertained members of Buckhaven BC 4 rinks from each club. Buckhaven 108 shots to Aberfeldy’s 69 shots.

8 July Stewarts triples sponsored by Angus Stewart, whose daughter presented the trophies. Winners: Duncan C McDougall, Tom McDougall and Jimmy Herminston. Runners up,: Paul Gavin, Dorothy Brown and Jim Black.

13 July NPL match: Aberfeldy’s 84 shots Pitlochry 54 shots. Aberfeldy 6pts. Pitlochry 2 pts. Another win on home ground for Aberfeldy bowlers.

14 Saturday & Sunday 15 July. Club competition Dewars trophy. 8 pairs of men entered. Winners: Norrie Rattray and John McComish, Runners up: Jim Black & Billy Devlin. 5 pairs of ladies entered. Winners : Susan Devlin and Christine MacLennar Runners up: Anne Woolley & Mattie McDougall.

18 July. NPL match at Grandtully Aberfeldy 73 shots, 4 points, and Grandtully 60 shots, 2 points.

23/4 and 26/7 July. The Barnett mixed pairs at Aberfeldy, 11 pairs taking part. Winners: Mattie McDougall & Jimmy Herminston. Runners up; Ian McComish & Christine MacLennar. Competition sponsored by Ronnie & Margaret Barnett, and president Peter Woolley presented the trophies.

25 July. NPL match at Aberfeldy - Aberfeldy 73 shots, 8 points Dunkeld 50 shots, no points

28 July Friendly at Newburgh with 4 male triples and 2 female triples, resulting in a win for Newburgh 98 shots to Aberfeldy 80 shots.
