Glen Muirhead said: “Unfortunately, Dad was beaten in the semi finals of the men’s competition otherwise it would have been an even bigger family celebration. As it is the whole family, my mother, father and younger brother Thomas are all coming out to cheer Eve and I on.” Eve added “We are so proud and excited to be representing Scotland, we just hope one of us will bring something back from the Championships.”
Robbie Scott, from Atholl Province of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and Area 8 Representative, presented Glen and Eve with Atholl Curling Province badges. These will be exchanged in the time honoured tradition with their opposition at the Championships in the USA.
A ‘First’ Record
Robbie Scott said “I have checked the records of the Scottish Junior Curling Championships and discovered that this is the first time that a brother and sister in the same year will represent Scotland.” He added “ It is an honour to be able to give two such promising youngsters from our Atholl Curling Rink our badges to take to the World Championships. Our very best wishes go with them.”
