Leisure Centre Operations in Pitlochry

Atholl Leisure Centre has been operated by Perth and Kinross Leisure (PKL) since the summer of 2004, and is one of ten “liveACTIVE” facilities which the company operates throughout Perthshire.

PKL is an independent “not for profit” company with charitable status which has been in existence since being established to build and run Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth in the mid 1960’s. The company now functions as a contractor, providing services on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council under the terms of a Service Level Agreement

The company’s vision outlined in the liveACTIVE strategy, is that “people in Perth and Kinross will enjoy the benefits of a physically active lifestyle” and this applies equally to those living in the smaller rural communities as it does to residents in Perth.

The facilities available with the West Moulin Road complex include a 3 badminton court Sports Hall and a Fitness Gym. In addition, the members of the highly successful local Powerlifting Club have their own facility within the Centre.

The Atholl team has been working hard to develop a programme of activities that caters for all ages, tastes and levels of ability.

As well as a number of clubs who use the Centre on a regular basis, the Centre programme now offers something for everyone.

The PKL Motiv8 programme provides supervised activity sessions for both pre-school and school age children. Pre-schoolers can enjoy Inflatable Fun sessions on the Centre’s Bouncy Castle while older Children can choose from Football, Teen Fitness, Gymnastics, Basketball and Karate.

Classes for adults include Gym Inductions, Core Stability and Years Ahead aimed at a more mature age group.
