Breadies' New Sponsorship Signings

A new sponsorship deal sees Booth Plant Hire of Lix Toll becoming Breadalbane Cricket Club’s main sponsor for the 2007 season. When the “Breadies” take the field for their first-ever fixture in the Strathmore Cricket Union Premier Division, their new kit will be fully sponsored for the first time in the club’s history.

Booth Plant Hire specialises in site clearances, demolition, forestry and agricultural contracting - as well as providing full plant hire services including self drive and qualified operator machinery. Now the firm, which is enjoying a growing reputation, wants to see its achievement linked with those of the Cricket Club. The Breadies themselves have enjoyed a meteoric rise up - and through - the divisions since commencing league cricket just a few short years ago.

James Booth, owner of Booth Plant Hire, observed: “We are a growing business and we are already winning contracts all over Scotland. So we are delighted to help the Club achieve its goals in an equally competitive arena.”

With the new cricket season fast approaching the Club also needed a sponsor for its popular and returning overseas professional, South African Darryn Mortimer. Local building contractor AKG Homes offered to help.

“The cost of bringing a top class professional and coach to the team is always a large one”, said club spokesman Mark Bridgeman, “so we were delighted when AKG Homes came forward to assist with this.”

Glenn Douthwaite, from AKG Homes, himself a keen cricketer, recognises the value of investing in the best. “We are a family run development company who always use the best equipment and specialists available to us. So why not help Breadalbane Cricket Club do the same?”

When Glenn isn’t involved in a specialist building development this summer, somewhere in Highland Perthshire, you may just spot him giving Darryn a few helpful tips on the cricket pitch!
