Bowling Club Season Opening: Aberfeldy

The Opening of the Green took place on Saturday 14 April 2007 with Ann Woolley throwing the first Jack.

Peter Woolley, President, welcomed the 46 bowlers who turned up to play 17 ends of bowls. Two teams were set up, one playing for the President and the other playing for the Vice President. The result was President’s Rinks 92 shots; Vice President’s Rinks 73 shots. An excellent day was enjoyed by all.

On 22 April Aberfeldy Bowlers played bowlers from Rattray Bowling Club on the Aberfeldy green.

Four rinks of mixed players from each Club took part with the result of Aberfeldy bowlers 83 shots, Blairgowrie Bowlers 78 shots. 21 ends of bowls were played.

On 29 April four rinks of mixed players from Aberfeldy travelled to Dunkeld to play 221 ends of bowls on Dunkeld’s bowling green against four mixed rinks of Dunkeld bowlers. Result: Aberfeldy bowlers 79 shots; Dunkeld bowlers 60 shots.

An excellent start to the season for Aberfeldy bowlers.
