Breadies Caught Mannofield Out
This, however, brought the Aberdeen side's pro to the crease. Flailing right from the start Deep Patel was looking dangerous. The Breadies needed a serious change of tack. Mark Bowler, the enigmatic Breadie skipper, fearlessly brought himself into the attack. His courage almost immediately paid off as Patel lofted one to long on only to be spilled. Soon after it came, a top edge - a skier, with debutant Jamie Coventry underneath it. The Breadies held their breath. Not textbook, but good enough and Patel was on his way for 4. Coventry was mobbed by his new found pals. The heart was out of the Mannofield chase. Bowler bowled incredibly, it was as if they had never seen the like of it before for the Aberdeen side swished, missed and lobbed up catches all over the park. They were finally routed in the 29th over of their innings with their score on just 92. Mark Bowler finished with a career best of 6 for 42. Mortimer chipped in with 3 for 14, and new boy Coventry added a second catch to his tally.
