The first outing of the season in the Perthshire Cup competition ended in complete success. The Breadalbane Blasters 20/20 team firstly blasted out the opposition, taking 9 wickets for 108 runs, then pummelled the priorymen, winning the match with 5 overs to spare.
Douthwaite bowled brilliantly taking 3 wickets with his mesmerising flight for 26 runs. In contrast Jabed Chowdhury, playing his first match for the club, took 2 for 11 with his extraordinarily nippy pace.

The Breadalbane chase initially stalled with both Platts and Hardy going for ducks when the score was on 5. Andrew Duncan Millar steadied the ship and Chris Eyes, the Kool Kiwi playing a red hot innings, smashed 75 from the Breadalbane total of 112 which included 3 consecutive sixes from the last 3 balls of the innings.
The Blasters have three more 20/20 games in their group, 2 at home and 1 away, before the knockout phase to be played in August.
